You may probably have the experience of disagreeing or even getting mad with someone close to you, such as your parents, children, husband or wife. It is true that those who are the closest to us may upset us knowingly.

When you are arguing with them, you may be out of your mind for the time being and say something inappropriate and deeply hurtful. But after you calm down and get your mind back, you may realize that the things that you said to your beloved one during the quarrel were so bad that you would never think of saying to a stranger.

People may wonder why we will verbally attack our beloved when we are angry or upset. Anger is not lovable, it may make us lose the rationalizations.

It is ridiculous for us to treat strangers much better than those who are close to us, but why is that? It’s because we will open our hearts more, when we are with the people who are close to us.

As we are open to them, we also become more sensitive to them. It is very easy to be angry with our family members when something stressful happens. This explains why we tend to hurt our families but not strangers.

No people will engage in a long term relationship for bad purposes. You would not marry your partner with the purpose of having quarrels or hurting him or her. However, we can be besotted with anger so easily that we may do something hurtful to our loved ones. This can spoil our relationships with them.

You may turn your anger into violence easily when you feel like taking revenge. In order to avoid this, you need to keep your emotions stable and be very mature even in difficult situations. One way to achieve this is to be sensible of what you think, what you feel and what you do. Since most of our choices are made unconsciously, you have to be more careful when making choices. It is hazardous to let our lives out of control.

Thus, in order to maintain good relationships with our loved ones, we must try to understand our inner feelings more and try to control our emotions even during stressful times.
